Get back to touch - workshop for pilates teachers

Effective touch can accelerate your students understanding of an exercise and communicate far more than words. Review the 8 types of touch, practice the best way to apply touch for the best outcome, learn to use the right pressure and to be in the right place, explore how to use your own body to safely spot your clients. Practice with fellow teachers and get lots of feedback to build confidence in your touch technique.

This workshop is suitable for all pilates teachers with experience from teaching pilates with apparatus (at least reformer). No matter if you are a classical or a contemporary teacher.

Teacher: Karen Ingram from the UK

Karen has over 24 years experience of teaching Pilates and movement and specialises in chronic pain using a combination of movement and coaching. Karen has a post grad in Pain Science from the University of South Australia. She is a Senior Master Instructor and mentor for Peak Pilates and is an International Trainer for INWA (International Nordic Walking Federation) . She is a published author and was short-listed for the business book awards. Karen presents internationally and is known for her fun and motivational sessions.

“I shall remember the high standard and the fun delivery of this course forever. Karen was friendly, professional, encouraging and so very funny! She has excellent teaching skills of which I was in total awe throughout.”  DAWN, Workshop participant

Karen works from her studio in Llantwit Major, Wales in the UK.  When she’s not at the studio you are most likely to find Karen in the big outdoors, walking in the hills, mountain biking, messing about in the sea or out for a run with Max the dog.

“I love helping people to move without pain and getting back to doing the things they love. I love anything to do with movement, being outdoors, running, skiing, cycling, walking the dog! Sitting still is the problem!
